Anita June (Brandon) Vincent

Surrounded by her family, Anita June Vincent (Bonnie) 83 of Afton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, at her son’s home in Indian River, MI. 

Bonnie was born at home on June 30, 1942, in Charlotte, Michigan.  She was delivered by her paternal grandmother.  She grew up and attended Charlotte schools.  She took pride in being class secretary and homecoming court.  Bonnie married Gerald Michael in 1960, they had three children together, Anna Marie Michael, Deborah Kay Michael and Richard Lee Kenneth Michael. The family spent 20 years raising horses and farm life.

On May 11, 1985 Bonnie married Robert Vincent, of Indian River. Together they purchased and operated the Colonial Motel & Lighthouse Restaurant in Manistique, Michigan. They owned the Motel for 32 years before retiring in Afton. Bonnie took great pride in making the motel a place to remember for those traveling through the Upper Peninsula. Both Bonnie and Bob had a deep love for their Golden Retrievers during their 25 years of marriage.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Robert Vincent, parents John and Nona Brandon, brother John Brandon and sister Sharon Weaver.

Bonnie is survived by her children Anna (Timothy) Rowden of Dewitt, Deborah (Richard) Johnston of Wolverine, Richard (Shelly) Michael of Indian River, sister Sally Porter of Charlotte, stepdaughter Kelly (John) Moran of Onaway, as well as nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Munson Hospice North for their support and care given to our mother and family.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
