Ann Foster-Schoreack Obituary

Ann Marie (Keller) Foster-Schoreack, 97, was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father on September 12, 2020.

Ann was born on May 11, 1923 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the oldest of thirteen children, to John G. and Lois R. (Goodrich) Keller. She grew up in Cross Village, Michigan and attended a small catholic school in Cross Village.

On May 23, 1946, she married David Foster. He preceded her in death in 1983. In 1991, she was married again to Lester Schoreack. He would also precede her in death in 2001.

Ann found her passion late in life when she became a nurse's aid and worked at the Emmet County Medical Care Facility, now known as Bay Bluffs. Working there was a privilege for Ann because she was able to care for the people in her small town, many became friends. She was able to care for her own father in his last days. She retired at age 65 in 1988.

In her spare time, Ann liked to play cribbage, scrabble and BINGO with friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. You never left her home with an empty stomach. She was an extremely caring and giving individual.

Ann raised six children, David (Lyneth) Foster, Dennis (Peggy) Foster, Kenneth (Peggy) Foster, Alan (Diane) Foster, Judie (Tom) Bricker and Jeff (Deana) Foster; she is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren; as well as her sisters, Agnes Pastorino, Katherine Mendoza, Mary Knapp, Marcella Keller and Patricia Steinbach.

Ann is preceded in death by her first and second husbands, David Foster and Lester Schoreack; a grandson, Anthony Foster; and her siblings, Jack, William, Walter, Gordon, Anthony and Edward Keller and Frances Hepburn.

There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church in Petoskey on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to Mass. Father Greg McCallum will officiate.
