Anna Emmer Kuebler

NOTICE: Due to inclement weather, the evening visitation on March 16, 2026, for Mrs. Anna Kuebler has been cancelled. The funeral service has also been postponed to Thursday, March 19th at 1:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM.

Anna Emmer Kuebler, age 100, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at Boulder Park Terrace, Charlevoix, on March 11, 2026.

Anna was born on March 3, 1926, in Alanson, Michigan, to Floyd Franklin and Susan Ann Honeysette. She remained close to home, graduating from Alanson Littlefield School and spending her life amongst those she knew and loved. On August 6, 1946, she married Lloyd Kuebler in her hometown of Alanson, with whom she shared 67 years.

Anna was a strong, bright, feisty, sharp, independent woman who would drop anything to help those in need, especially her loved ones. She worked on the Hayes Township election board for 35 years, supporting her community through her trademark consistency and steadfastness. She maintained a similar dedication to her personal life, occupying and breathing life into her “starter home” for 75 years. Said home was often filled with the smell of freshly baked breads and treats and surrounded by a marvelous vegetable garden she maintained herself.

Fall was her favorite season, but she also greatly enjoyed the Spring, when the Holstein cows would return to graze near her home. This dedication to the natural world extended to the smallest creatures, including the birds she expected to be fed every day-and she would remember if you forgot! Anna’s memory was extensive, and she could recount and tell her stories as well as she could remember them.

Anna is survived by her two children, Geri (Doug) Gesell and Douglas Kuebler; grandchildren Rebecca (Jeff) McDonald, Douglas (Trina) Kuebler II, Kelly Walters, Lisa (Dave Herboldsheimer Jr.) Kuebler, and Jon (Wenda) Gesell; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Anna's services will take place March 19, 2026, with visitation starting at 12:00 PM. The funeral will begin at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Henry Escillada of the Petoskey Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
