Annie Ruth Jakeway, 100 of Indian River, Michigan passed away on August 11, 2020 at Bay Bluffs in Harbor Springs, Michigan.
Daughter of George and Paula (Mundt) Weller, Annie was born on February 9, 1920 in Saskchewan, Canada. She grew up in Brutus, Michigan and attended school at Brutus and graduated from Alanson High School.
On November 4, 1937 she married Bernard Jay Jakeway in Brutus.
Annie worked after high school as a today's companion in New York until coming home to marry her husband of 49 years. She later was employed as a cashier and doctors assistant. After her husbands death in 1986 she moved back North to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Before residing at Bay Bluffs care facility, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Alanson, Michigan.
She was a longtime member of the Oden Community Church and later attended Berean Bible Church in Topinabee, Michigan with her daughter. She was a very active person who loved people and volunteered where ever she could help. She loved to cook, crochet, sew, and entertain her many friends.
Annie is survived by her three daughters: Pat Nelson of Greenville, Claudia Charron of Fountain, and Sally Shaw and son-in-law Larry "Ed" Shaw of Indian River; her 10 grandchildren; her 16 great-grandchildren; and her many great-great-grandchildren.
Annie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bernard Jakeway; her two sisters Martha and Elsie; her three brothers: Rudy, Paul, and Alfred; and her one great-granddaughter.
