Antoinette D. (Renaud) Allain

Antoinette D. Allain (Renaud), 83, of Indian River, passed away in Traverse City on Monday, November 14, 2022. Antoinette was born on Christmas Day in 1938, the daughter of Antoine and Neva (Bullis) Renaud.

Antoinette was raised and spent most of her life in Indian River, but graduated from Airport High School in 1957. On April 12, 1958, she married the love of her life, Louis Allain in Indian River at the Catholic Shrine Church.

Antoinette grew up working in her parent's restaurant, Renaud's, in Indian River. She worked as a school bus driver at Indland Lakes Public Schools and a nurses aide at Family Medicine in Indian River.

Antoinette was a people person who loved knitting, and even taught knitting for 4-H. She also enjoyed playing dice and board games, dancing with her husband and children, and watching wrestling with her grandson, also camping and spending time with her whole family. Antoinette was a member of the United Methodist Church Women's Group for many years.

Antoinette is survived by five children, Keith, Fred (Debra), Laurie (J.C.), Wendy, and Todd (Sherri), ten grandchildren, Louis, Dale, Angela, Leslie, Rachel, Jodi, Jamie, Donald, T.J., and Michelle, 12 great grandchildren, and many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Louis, siblings, Fred, Charles, Arlene and Albert, a grandson, Chad, and a daughter-in-law, Judy.

A memorial service will take place at the Indian River United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 22 at 2pm with family greeting friends one hour prior. Pastor Todd Schaefer will officiate.

Memorial contributions in Antoinette's name may be made to the Indian River United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
