She graduated from Traverse City High School in 1952 and later attended Western Michigan University. On May 20, 1954, she married William R. Magel in Angola, Indiana. On October 20, 1984, Ardelle married Wesley Rensel in Petoskey, Michigan. They made their home there until retiring in 1997 and moving to Indian River.
In her more active years Ardelle enjoyed traveling, boating, golfing, and reading. She was a member of the Indian River Golf Club, Straits Area Garden Club, Indian River Women’s Club, and the “Thirsty Thursdays.”
She is survived by her children, William (Anne) R. Magel of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and their daughters, Alexandra and Amanda; and Katy (Jon) Pittman of Bloomington, Indiana; stepchildren, Roger Rensel of Petoskey, Wanda (Marc) Dnow of Harbor Springs, Michigan, and Allen (Jennie) Rensel of Parker, Colorado; and five grandchildren.
