Arlene E. Dorf

Arlene E. Dorf of Petoskey, Michigan peacefully passed away on September 21, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Detroit, Michigan to parents Mable and George Anderson.

Arlene was married to Harold Dorf and had a long and loving marriage of 40 years. She lost the love of her life last year in February.

She is survived by her younger brother Ken Anderson, three loving daughters Sandra, Suzan, and Charlene as well as her four grandchildren: Grace, Grant, Drake and Ava.

Arlene was an Administrative Assistant at Northern Michigan University for over two decades. She supported the Psychology and History departments, completing her career at NMU in Registrar’s office. She had a true passion for the students she served at NMU.
Arlene had a love for designing beautiful gardens at her homes, both in Marquette and Harbor Springs. She had a deep appreciation for nature and wild birds.

Arlene received care and compassion from the staffs at Independence Village in Petoskey, Pineview Cottage in Harbor Springs and Hospice of Michigan.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in the name of Arlene Dorf may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.

A 12pm memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Bay View Memorial Gardens followed by a luncheon at Stafford’s Perry Hotel in Petoskey.
