Barbara Charboneau Obituary

Barbara Ann (Renton) Charboneau, 85, of Cheboygan, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at her home. 

She was born to George and Helen Renton in Detroit, Michigan on April 18, 1933.  She attended St. Joseph Academy in Adrian and Visitation High School, Detroit.  She married Gerald Charboneau Sr. on April 21, 1951 and raised 4 children. She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Charboneau) Reiner of Cheboygan,  sons Richard Charboneau (wife Wendy) of Essexville, MI and Chris Charboneau of Madison Heights, MI; and daughter-in-law Celeste Charboneau of Cheboygan.  Barb is also survived by her grandchildren Dennis (Abby) Reiner; Rebecca (Eric) Lee; Gerald III, Dan, Amy and Emily Charboneau; Mandy and Matt (Liz) Charboneau; 5 great-granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless, treasured friends. 

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; brother Donald; husband Gerald Charboneau Sr. (2010) and son Gerald Charboneau Jr. (1999).

Barb was a very active member of both St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  She served as a Eucharist minister, sacristan and lector.  Barb was a member and past Regent of the Cheboygan Circle of Daughters of Isabella. She was active in the Cursillo movement.

Barb was a woman whose unwavering faith guided each step of her life.  She took great care and pride in sharing her faith and joy with friends and strangers alike.  Her smile was contagious.  She was loved by countless family and friends and will be dearly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 31st, 2018 at 11:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Family and friends may pay their respects ninety minutes prior to the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations honoring her life can be made to Bishop Baraga Catholic School.
