Barbara (nee Grisso) Ernst

Barbara Ernst (nee Grisso), 90, of Harbor Springs passed through the Gates of Heaven on June, 9, 2022.

Born on January 19, 1932, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she later moved to Michigan and met her loving husband of 70 years, Glenn, at Petoskey High School, where she wore the crowns of Winter Sports and Centennial Queen.

Barbara worked for Holy Childhood Parish as the first Secretary/Treasurer, retiring after 25 years, and was a long-time member of the Harbor Springs Extension. Upon retirement, she and Glenn wintered in Florida, visiting their children along the way.

She is survived by her husband Glenn, her five boys: Mike, Pat (Neysa), Tim (Nancy), Terry (Lisa) and Dan (Ann), as well as six grandchildren. Barb is predeceased by grandchildren Danny, Kyle and Simon Ernst. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and siblings Jim Grisso and Marilyn Bray.

Services to be held at Holy Childhood Church on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, with viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by mass at 11:00 a.m. Lunch to follow in parish hall. Interment at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of Schiller Funeral Home.
