Barbara Webb Obituary

Barbara Jean Webb, 87, died September 26, 2022 at Bay Bluffs Medical Care Facility in Harbor Springs.

Barbara was born on May 22, 1935, in Ann Arbor, the daughter of Warren and Margaret Joan (Graham) Paddock. She was raised in Whitmore Lake and graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1953.

She was a very sweet and loving person with a happy nature. She was always smiling, singing, and full of life. Her grandchildren recall her playfulness and how she would indulge them with make-believe stories. Barbara liked being pampered with pedicures and foot massages from her son Derek, paying him “a penny a pinch”. She always styled her long hair into a high ponytail and will be remembered for her sweet, angelic voice. She enjoyed music by artists like Tom Jones, Elvis Presley, and Engelbert Humperdinck. Barbara was a bit of a shopaholic, especially in resale shops and antique stores. She loved watching football and baseball games with an ice cold pop. She bonded with her son Kevin over baseball; he dedicated a little league homerun to her when he was 12 years old, and later sat beside his mom as she received a ball from Detroit Tigers catcher, Gates Brown.

She was raised Methodist and explored religion all her life. She read her Bible often would watch televised church services daily. John 3:16 was her favorite verse and she lead her life by that example of "love one another as I've loved you". When it came down to it, the best way to describe her was by simply saying, “She loved the Lord”.

More than anything, family was the most important part of Barbara’s life. She was a wonderful sister, a loving mother, an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother.  She will be deeply missed.

Barbara is survived by her children, Kevin (Dianna) Webb, Father Kelly (Magda) Webb, her angel, Sheilah (Dr. Amod) Tootla, and Derek (Tina) Webb; grandchildren, Kevin Webb Jr., Christina Webb, Vincent Webb, Stefano Cascio, George Webb, Anastasia Webb, Tiffany Webb-Shears, Justin Webb, Margo Webb, Chelsea Webb, Anthony Bevere, Dillon Webb and Ryan Webb; great-grandchildren, Maxim Shears, Sylas Webb and Roman Webb; and siblings, Warren (Laurel) Paddock, Margaret Watson, and William (the late Veronica) Paddock.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kory Webb; and by her sisters, Joan (Roy) Chelpman and Madelyn (Jerry) Dakin.
