Bea Wolf passed away July 14, 2021 with her youngest daughter Teresa holding her hand.
Her family will remember and celebrate her life with a funeral mass that is planned for Friday, July 23, at 10:30 a.m. at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Petoskey. Mass will be led by Father Dennis Stilwell and Father Greg McCallum. Visitation is planned for Thursday, July 22, at Stone Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. The rosary will be recited in Bea’s memory at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be planned from 9:30 a.m. until time of service in the church gathering space prior to mass.
Bea was born April 22, 1929 in Petoskey, Michigan to Victor and Helen (Daniels) Ulrich. She attended St Francis Xavier Catholic School throughout the 10th grade and graduated from Petoskey High School.
On April 19, 1949 she married the love of her life, James (Jim) Wolf in Petoskey, Michigan and they shared 68 years together and raised eight children.
Mom dedicated her life to her faith and her family. She was the best Mom, Grandma and homemaker and we always, no matter what, felt her love.
She always had beautiful gardens, baked the best cookies, cakes, bread and gooey cinnamon rolls, canned many things, enjoyed picking berries to make jams and jellies and searching for the coveted morel mushrooms. She was a laundry and sewing guru and was known for her many sock monkeys that she made for the church bazaar and family and friends. She made all of our costumes and popcorn balls to pass out for Halloween and we always had great birthday parties. She was great at crafts, writing stories and drawing, so we always had the greatest school projects. She cooked the best holiday dinners and always welcomed our friends/anyone into our home. She loved reading, puzzles, listening to music (Christmas music could be heard throughout the year), watching the birds, going on rock picking trips and picnics, playing Scrabble with Dad (sometimes she even let him win), plus the many board games with all of us over the years.
She was a girl scout leader and a dedicated member of St Francis Xavier Church where she was involved with many activities including the Altar Society, Trees of Christmas, funeral luncheons, baking bread for the bazaar, making wreaths and cleaning the church, just to name a few.
Bea is survived by her children Martin of Traverse City, Steve (Sherry) of Good Hart, Rich (Janet) of Alanson, Jamie (Carrie) of Petoskey, Sue (Ken) Krepps of Petoskey, Will, John and Teresa of Petoskey. Grandchildren include Toby, Jane (Evan), Andy (Brandi), Amber (Paula), Nick (Sharyn), Zack, Jamie, Stephen, Jason, Sara (Russell), Tyler (Autumn) and Kate. Great grandchildren include Kaleb, Adrien, Renna, Aubrey, Riley, Connor, Brendan, Arya, and Layla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim; and her siblings Pat Stark, Ed Ulrich, Winifred Eaton Holden, Evie Wolf, Tom Ulrich, Lila Goodrich and Velma Benson, grandson Luke Hofbauer and granddaughter Amy Miller.
Friends and family wishing to make a charitable donation in her memory are asked to consider St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church or Manna Food Project.
