Belinda Lee Abbott

Belinda Abbott, 43, of Harbor Springs, Michigan, passed away on November 6, 2025, at Munson Charlevoix Hospital.

Belinda was born on June 24, 1982, at home in Santa Margarita, California, to Kathleen Abbott and Roger Abbott. She spent her early childhood in Santa Margarita before her family moved to Mexico, where she was homeschooled. The family later settled in Michigan, where Belinda attended school in Indian River and Harbor Springs.

She married Garrett Smith of Harbor Springs, with whom she had her daughter, Carissa. They later separated. She then married Joseph Lemke of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, with whom she had her son, Chase. They also later separated.

Belinda had a spirited love of life and cherished the time she spent traveling and being with friends and family. She loved her children deeply and was very proud of them. Known for her candid honesty and strong opinions, Belinda was never afraid to speak her mind and always told you exactly what she thought. For many years, she worked as a server at Bob Evans, where her warm presence was appreciated by customers and colleagues alike.

She is survived by her daughter, Carissa Smith; her son, Chase Lemke; her brothers, Fred Tangdit, Levias Tangdit, and John Abbott; her sister, Christina Tangdit; her mother, Kathleen Kalem; her partner, Jesse Van Divner; her best friend, Cori Lang, who was like a sister to her; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Belinda was preceded in death by her father, Roger Abbott; her grandmother, Lenore Kalem; and her uncle, Tom Kalem.

A memorial service will be held at Stutsmanville Chapel, 2988 S State Rd, Harbor Springs, MI 49740, on Friday, November 21st at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon at the chapel.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
