Belinda Joy Obituary

Belinda Lynn (Gasco) Joy, age 59 of Indian River passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital.

Belinda was born in Lansing mi on September 4,1965 to Dan Gasco and L’Vonna LuHellier. She was born and raised in Michigan, and later graduated from Pellston High School. Belinda carried a deep and abiding faith throughout her life, and was always praying for someone. She found peace in her prayer time. She cherished every moment she got to spend with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Belinda found joy in every conversation, shared moments, or opportunity she got to spend with her family, as they meant everything to her. She was a devoted wife, mother, Ama, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, best friend, and the list goes on. Her passion in life was being there for her family, and she embraced the love of those around her. She was married to her best friend, and the love of her life, Glen Joy Sr for 35 years. Belinda spent most of her days watching her grandchildren, which she loved to do and always treated them like her own children. On her down time she loved going for motorcycle rides, going to rummage/thrift shops, shopping (especially Christmas shopping), going to pow wows, embracing her native heritage, and spending time outdoors. She had a strong belief in God and she lived what she believed. Belinda had a huge heart for helping everyone, and would gladly give the shirt off her back to help a complete stranger. She would always go the extra mile to make sure everyone had what they needed, even if that meant her going without. The love she had for her family and the impact she leaves behind is immeasurable.

Belinda is survived by her loving husband Glen Joy Sr, her three children : Danny (Jackie) Hartman, Amanda (Travis) McKervey, and Glen Joy Jr.  Her Eleven grandchildren: Rebecca, Haley, Beau, Caylynn, Jadeon, Kasie, Chloe, Gabriel, Lilly, Maddilynn, and Sierra. Two great grandchildren: Braxton and Vivian, as well as her siblings: Edward, Carol, Greg, Sharon, Paula, Dana, Don, Darin, and Chris, and many cousins, niece’s, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Belinda is preceded in death by her dad Dan Gasco, mother L’Vonna Gasco, brothers Johnny and Daniel Gasco Jr, a baby sister Juanita Gasco, a grandson Isiah Mckervey, and her two loving pets Mojo and Shay.
