Beth Miller Obituary

Beth Miller, of Petoskey, Michigan, went to be with her Lord on April 7th at Hiland Cottage Hospice, due to untreatable cancer at the age of 65.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Robinson and Charlotte Robinson (neé Segard). She is survived by her children: sons Deskin Miller and wife Alexandra Grandstaff, Wesley Miller, Colin Miller, and daughter Annika Miller; her siblings: brother Eric Robinson and wife Judy, sister Ellen Syswerda and husband David, and brother Stephen Robinson; her grandchildren Kaden Presley, Kamden Miller, and Lucille Grandstaff-Miller; the father of her children, Rex Miller; her close friends Val Mooney, Kim Borsodi, Jill Van Staveren, and Alta Munson; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

She was born Beth Ann Robinson on November 1st 1954 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Gerald and Charlotte Robinson.

She grew up in Grand Rapids, graduated from Creston High School, Wheaton College and then the University of Michigan where she received her Master's in Library Science and her teaching certificate.

Beth was a full time parent to her four children, and in 2002 joined the staff at Lincoln Elementary School in Petoskey, where she worked as the school librarian until the time of her death. She was a very active and beloved member, teacher and pianist at First Baptist Church of Petoskey. She also taught piano lessons for many years.

Beth loved God, her family, and her students. She was much loved and adored by them all. She also enjoyed reading, baking and spending time outdoors, particularly at Gitche Gumee Bible Camp in Michigan's Keweenaw County.

Her family will be holding a private ceremony. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic her family will hold a public memorial for Beth in the future, when it is safe to do so.
