Bonnie Lockman Obituary

Bonnie “Elaine” Lockman, 65, of Boyne City, Michigan, passed away Sunday, September 1st, 2019 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.

Elaine was born in Panama City, Florida on July 25th, 1954, a daughter to the late Dale H. and Bonnie Lou (Hammontree) Dixon. She graduated from Boyne City High school in the class of 1972, and then later, acquired her Associates degree in accounting from North Central Michigan College. Elaine married her high school sweetheart Carl Lockman in 1973. She and Carl built a home in Boyne City and started a family. While raising their two children Elaine worked full time in the accounting/payroll/HR departments at Courters (now Honeywell), where she worked for 41 years before retiring in 2017.

Family was everything to Elaine, but most of all being a mother and grandmother were her greatest accomplishments. Time spent with her family was her heaven on earth. She was 110 percent devoted to every special moment. Never missing a sporting event, band concert, school play or program. Nothing made her happier than doting on her 7 grandchildren and the smiles and laughter from each of them.

Elaine was always willing to lend a helping hand and the first to give to anyone who was in need. Her loving and kind soul touched so many throughout her life and her sweet smile will be remembered fondly by those who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Carl Lockman of Boyne City; children, Kyle (Trisha) Lockman of Boyne City, Kelli (Caleb) Schoolcraft of Boyne City; grandchildren, Erika, Noah, Collin, Kaiden, Nashville, Lainey, and Kyla; step-father, Robert Ohenry of Spring Arbor, MI; brother, Phillip (Stacy) Dixon of Boyne City; sister Sharon Kitson of Boyne City; many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Roscoe.

Per Elaine's request, there will not be a service. Her wishes were to be cremated and then be brought back to the family property.
