Brenda Gayle Kinley, 70 of Center Township, died March 20, 2019 in Petoskey, MI.
Brenda was born on March 22, 1948 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph and Charlotte (Starkey) Kinley and graduated from the Monsignor John H. Gabriels High School, now Lansing Catholic High School, with the class of 1966. She moved to St. Petersburg, FL where she worked as a Legal Secretary until she moved to Northern Michigan 9 years ago.
Brenda was a woman who was full of life and probably one of the most energetic 70-year olds you could ever meet and always had a sparkle in her eyes. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, artwork, her adult coloring books, and spending time with her Lady’s Avon Group. She was one of the kindest women and would open the door to anyone in need and was a rock to many. Brenda’s greatest love was her family and the time she spent with them was the most important thing to her. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
She is survived by 4 children, Keisha (Deron) Freeman-Fulcher, Jamie (Michael) Freeman-Mead, Kelli (David) Wiklanski, and Mark (Rachelle VanRooyan) Kinley; and by 12 grandchildren.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister, Celia.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Bliss Missionary Church (15 E Sturgeon Bay Trail, Levering, MI. 49755). A reception will immediately follow at the Alpha House next to the church until 4:00 p.m.
