Bryan Wayne Kerridge

Bryan Wayne Kerridge, 41, of Grand Rapids, died unexpectedly at his home on August 29, 2015. 

Bryan was born on July 18, 1974 in Petoskey, the son of Cecil and Barbara (Vajda) Kerridge.  Bryan grew up in Boyne Falls and took advantage of all northern Michigan had to offer in outdoor activities with his friends and family such as skiing, snowmobiling, dirt biking, four wheeling, as well as hunting and fishing.  He was a 1992 graduate of Boyne Falls High School.  He continued his education at the University of Michigan and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.  He dedicated his life to serving others and caring for his patients in a variety of healthcare settings.

Bryan married Lorrie on August 22, 1998 and were blessed with a daughter, Kya (14).  Together they raised their daughter along with step-daughter Gabrielle (19).  Bryan and Lorrie later divorced.  In 2007, Bryan and Margie Hendges were blessed with a son, Calvin (8) and have been raising him along with her children Bailey and Tony.  He was a loving and devoted father and enjoyed few things more than spending quality time with his children.

Bryan was a very dedicated and focused individual in all aspects of his life.  One of his greatest passions was spending countless hours in the gym sculpting his physique.  He competed and placed in several state and national body building competitions.  Bryan was known for his bright smile and genuine kindness.

Bryan is preceded in death by his father, Cecil (Butch) Kerridge.  He is survived by his mother Barbara, sister Nicole (Steve) Murray, his children Kya, Calvin, and step daughter Gabrielle, niece Brittany, and nephew Brent.

Bryan’s life will be remembered and celebrated during a funeral mass that will take place at the St. Mathews Catholic Church at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 5, 2015. Visitation will be held in the church gathering space beginning at 9:30 am.  Bryan will be laid to rest on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Garnet following an 11:00 am graveside service.
