Cadet William DeNise, 87, passed away on November 12, 2025, in LaGrange, Kentucky.
Born on November 22, 1937, in Petoskey, Michigan, Cadet was the son of Floyd and Meta (Lick) DeNise. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David DeNise.
Cadet is lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Jennie (Bell) DeNise; his brother Dennis DeNise; and his three children: Mark (Kathy) DeNise, Jill DeNise, and Lisa (Mike) Elder. He also leaves behind five grandchildren—Nathan, Nicholas, and Nolan DeNise; Seth Elder; and Kelcey Mars—and six great-grandchildren who brought joy to his later years.
With more than thirty years of dedicated service at Buhr Machine & Tool Die Company in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Cadet exemplified a strong work ethic and steadfast commitment throughout his career. Following retirement, he returned to Boyne Falls where he continued serving the community by working part-time at the local post office for five years.
Cadet’s life reflected devotion to family and an enduring connection to northern Michigan. His presence will be deeply missed by family and friends.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Sherry McGuffin will be held at Stackus Funeral Home on May 26, 2026, at 1:30 PM. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, and a graveside service will follow after at Boyne Valley Township Cemetery.
