Carl Fochtman of Petoskey lost his battle with cancer on October 3, 2018.
Carl was born in Petoskey, Michigan on May 15, 1938, the son of Harry and Gertrude (DeCeder) Fochtman of Petoskey and Battle Creek, Michigan. Carl attended St. Francis and Petoskey Schools in his younger years. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956-1959 and the United States Coast Guard from 1960-1979. Upon his retirement from the service, Carl moved to Petoskey, Michigan and worked as an Assistant Manager at the Holiday Gas Station until retiring in 1999.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Marquita (Van Liew) Fochtman; his brother, Earl Fochtman of Battle Creek, MI; and his sister, Pearl Murphy of Bucyrus, Ohio.
Carl is survived by his children, Donna Curry of Petoskey, Michigan, Carla Rudolph of Howell, Michigan, Patty Kuks of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Chris Fochtman of Oregon, Laura Collins of Millington, Tennessee, and Carl Fochtman of Petoskey; 24 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and his brother, Harry Fochtman of Ogden, Utah.
