Carl Edward Russ, Jr. passed away at the age of 83 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital on November 16, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Carl was born on September 14, 1939 to Carl Edward Russ and Zelma Virginia (White) Russ at Beyer Memorial Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Ron, Janis and Danny.

Carl grew up in the Detroit area where he retired from Ford Motor Company. After retirement he moved to Northern Michigan where he was employed by Daman Electric and traveled as a journeyman. Carl met his soul mate, Charlene (Crandell) Bush and they were married August 10, 2002.

Carl was an avid hunter, enjoyed camping with his family, working around the house with his tractor and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Carl is survived by his wife Charlene Russ; daughter Robin Russ; sister Valerie Bilanski; step children John Edward (Shelley) Bush, Jr, Joshua (Amanda) Bush and Jessica (Matt) Bordinat; and seven grandchildren.

A private family memorial is being planned.
