Carl "Tuffy" Dean Stewart, Jr.

After many years of struggling with health issues, Carl Stewart passed away at home on September 18, 2025.

Carl's nickname was "Tuffy". In his school years he had a zest for life. He appreciated fast cars, pretty girls, and his friends. At age 17, he was involved in a terrible car accident that left him paralyzed. In an act of strength and courage, he wheeled across the stage to accept his diploma.

After graduation, Tuffy had some amazing travels with his closest friends. They experienced visiting many states and had unforgetable adventures together.

Tuffy met, then married an amazing lady named Maria. Maria was a true gift from God, and they were married for 25 years.

Tuffy was able to indulge in his passions, which included farming, raising cattle and other livestock, gardening, and hosting many gatherings of family and friends. He was a huge Michigan Wolverines football fan, hunter, and an avid farming equipment collector.

Carl is survived by his truly devoted wife Maria, Uncle Frank and Pam, many cousins, and friends. Mike Kresnak was his best lifelong friend.

Some of Carl's most important people passed before him; grandmother Trulson, mom Doralynn Trulson, dad Carl Stewart Sr, and brother Spencer.

We hold space in our hearts that Tuffy has been reunited with his family, and that he can run like the wind again.

A funeral will be at Stone Funeral Home on September 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and burial will follow the funeral at Greenwood Cemetery.
