Carol Ann Elsworth

Carol Ann (Lothamer) Elsworth, 83, of Cheboygan, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at home, surrounded by her family.

Carol was born September 23,1938 in Detroit to Louis and Elizabeth (Parker) Lothamer. After high school she was employed by Parke Davis where she met her future husband, John Elsworth. John and Carol were married August 21, 1963. Upon retirement in 1983, John and Carol moved to Cheboygan where they made their home.

Carol was an accomplished pianist and creative artist whose works included mosaics, stained glass and beautiful quilts. She formed and led several local quilt groups where she taught the art of quilting to others. She was active in her church, a long-time member of the Rivertown Patchworkers, and volunteered at the Hospice of the Straits for over 30 years. Carol and John enjoyed traveling and being part of the craft show circuit.

Carol is survived by two daughters, Linda (Andrew) Fignar, Jr. and Lisa Elsworth (Shawn Slater) as well as three grandchildren, David (Edie) Fignar, Andrea Fignar (Brian Bell), and Drew Edmondson. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and husband John.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 at 11am at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cheboygan, with family welcoming friends one-hour prior. Memorial donations can be made to McLaren Hospice House of Cheboygan.
