Caroline E (Massey) Jenkins

Our Mother Caroline Ettie Massey, 91, passed away January 24, 2018 at Grandvue Charlevoix County Medical Care Facility, East Jordan, Michigan.  She was suffering from Kidney failure, a brain stroke and several eye strokes, as well as, many others age related problems.  As those who knew her will tell you she was a very feisty lady as well as very loving and stayed with her true colors to the very end.

Caroline Ettie Massey was born on January 10, 1927 in Boyne Falls, Michigan, to her father, Leon Massey and her mother, Etta Johnston Massey. She married her high school sweet heart, Ernest Allen Jenkins, on May 27, 1944, in Charlevoix, Michigan. They lived in Lansing, Michigan for a short time, returning to the Boyne Falls area where they raised two children, Terry Allen Jenkins born March 27th, 1947 and Nancy Lou Dean born April 27th, 1950.   She enjoyed staying at home, raising her children and maintaining her home and property.  She possessed a vast array of skills including gardening, mowing, carpentry, mechanical ability, cooking, canning, sewing and numerous other skills.  If it needed to be done she would get it done.

Caroline was a devout Christian, an avid reader of the Bible and multiple religious publications and a member of the Boyne Falls Methodist Church.

Caroline was the youngest and last survivor of five brothers and two sisters.

She was an incredibly loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her children, two grandchildren (Christopher Allen Jenkins in Mansfield, Texas and Lisa Luschione Jenkins in Tampa, Florida) and eight great grandchildren (Renee Jenkins, Kayla Jenkins, Nicholas Jenkins, Chauncesten Jenkins, Kenny Londo, Rylaund Londo, Ellianna Londo and Audrianna Jenkins.)

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 11th, 2018 at Maple Lawn Cemetery.
