Cecil Ray Giem, 92, lifelong resident of Boyne Falls, MI peacefully passed away at home March 27. He spent his entire adult life in his chosen profession – family farmer while also working at the Howe Leather Company until its closure in 1969. From there he worked at Boyne Mountain in the ski rental and golf course. After which he became a bus driver for the Boyne Falls School system for 20 plus years until his retirement.
Cecil is survived by his four children, Gary (Jan) Giem, Kingman AZ, Linda Ball, Trinity FL, Ken (Beth) Giem, Boyne Falls, Bruce (Mary) Giem Boyne Falls; eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, one sister Alice (Gale) Reynolds, Boyne Falls and his ever present four-legged companions Susie and Peanut.
Cecil was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Louise in 2015, one sister (Lila Hausler -Williams) and two brothers Floyd (Janette) Giem and Lyle Wayne (Charlene) Giem.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Charlevoix County Humane Society.
A funeral service for Cecil will be officiated by Rev. David Behling on Friday April 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Walloon Lake Community Church. A visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and burial will follow the service at Boyne Valley Township Cemetery.
