Charles Edward Bauman, 74, passed away on May 29, 2026 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire, Michigan. Charles was born July 6, 1951 son of Charles and Augusta (Dvorack) Bauman. He grew up in Boyne City and attended Boyne City High School with the class of 1969.
Chuck married Sally Wilson June 30, 1973. Chuck built their family home where he and Sally raised three daughters.
Charlie worked at Top O’ Michigan / Great Lakes Energy for 40 years. He started as a Tree Trimmer, advancing to Journeyman Lineman, and System Maintenance until he retired in July 2013.
Chuck kept himself busy with hunting, berry picking and mushroom hunting. He was also a skilled woodworker and tinkerer who loved shopping garage sales with his grandson. He rarely missed attending the annual Northern Michigan Antique-Flywheelers Tractor and Engine Show and the Woodward Dream Cruise.
Chuck is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Sally; his daughters Sandy (Patrick Michanowicz) Bauman, Kelley (DJ) Christianson, and Cheryl (Bing Pascual) Bauman; grandchildren: Gabriel Michanowicz, Ryann Christianson, Aiden Pascual, and Ethan Pascual; his brother, Randy Bauman.
Chuck is preceded in death by parents, Charles and Augusta Bauman; and siblings Patricia Bauman, Linda Bauman, Cynthia Steffel, and Thomas Bauman.
Chuck courageously battled Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia for 13 years. For the past year he was lovingly cared for by the staff at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility’s Grass Creek Cottage. In his final days, he was comforted and watched over by Willow the resident cat and she also supported Chuck’s girls who were by his side when he peacefully passed away.
Arrangements are private and no public visitation or service is scheduled.
