Christine Marie Kenney

Christine Marie Kenney, 44 of East Jordan, passed from this life on April 23, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Her family will remember and celebrate her life on Thursday, April 29th, 2021. The service will be held at Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan and will be led by her uncle, Rev. David Behling. Visitation will take place the day of service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will take place in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Boyne City at a later date.

If you knew Chris, you know what an amazing human she was. She was filled with kindness, generosity and love and spread it to everyone she met. Her laugh was contagious and she was incredibly lucky to have such extraordinary friendships!

Being a mother was Chris’ greatest love and accomplishment. Her favorite moments were those spent hearing about hunting adventures, watching CSI together, cooking all his favorite foods and most recently watching him obtain his Builders License.

She was forever grateful she could experience the immense joy of becoming a grandmother, known as Brina. Nothing gave her more pleasure than spending time with them or looking for treasures to surprise them with. She will be their guardian angel from afar and walk them safely through life’s journey.

Chris was born in Petoskey on September 29, 1976 to Robert and Margaret (Behling) Kenney. She grew up in East Jordan and graduated from East Jordan High School in 1994. Her favorite job was serving patrons at The Zone. Chris found her true passion fulfilled here serving her community and friends with a smile and laughter that made everyone feel welcome.    

Chris is survived by her son, Trevor (Trisha Mullins) Kenney; significant other, Rex Bartholomew and children Rex and Aubree Bartholomew; her grandchildren, Trae, Taelynn, Robbie, Carter, Carson and Retta. Her surviving siblings include, Katharine (Ron) Gates, Robert (Tawnya Roberts) Kenney, Cindy Burns, Joe (Tammy) Seese, Kevin (Amy) Russell, Tara (Tim) Weir and Tim (Tina) Russell. Father, Robert (Fran) Kenney; nieces Jasmine, Morgan, Jeddikia, Caydence, Shalynn, Madison, Kaylee, Kendra, Kyleigh, Faith Ann, Riley and Rose; nephews Joey, Charles, Brenden, Keaton, Cody, Garett and Wyatt.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Kenney, aunt, Martha Finnan; uncle, Bill Behling and Ray Behling; and by a cousin Miriam Behling.
