Constance J. Kopernik

Constance J. (Ceroll) Kopernik, 89, of Cheboygan, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at the Cheboygan McLaren Hospice House. She was born March 16, 1933 in Detroit, the daughter of Robert Ceroll and Irene Ceroll (Sarkissian) and stepdaughter of Haigh Sarkissian.

On September 6, 1953 in Detroit, Constance married Richard Kopernik who preceded her in death in 2013.

Connie loved taking trips up north with her family staying across from Mullett Lake in her Aunt Vick’s Cottages in the 1960’s. She eventually bought a cottage on Mullett Lake, land and other homes as investment property. She moved to Cheboygan in 1997 with her husband and immediately started landscaping their beautiful new home. She always had a special touch in landscaping and interior design.

Constance is survived by three children, Robert Kopernik of Cheboygan, Dianne (Paul) Cusumano of Novi and Roger (Maryann) Kopernik of Cheboygan, one grandson, Christopher (Chastity) Kopernik, and two great grandchildren, Andrew and Jenna Kopernik. 

Cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be on June 9, 2023 at St. Mary- St. Charles Catholic Church at 1:00 PM. 

Memorial contributions in Constance’s name may be directed to the McLaren Hospice House of Cheboygan, Cheboygan Humane Society, or Alzheimer's Association.
