D. Olds Schupp, Jr., aged 62, passed away on May 2, 2026, in Petoskey, Michigan. Born on August 9, 1963, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Olds lived a life filled with adventure, passion, and dedication to the things he loved most.
Olds was the son of the late David Olds Schupp and Gretchen Wolff Schupp. He is survived by Karla Schupp (husband Jeff Collins) and her children Noah Hatch (wife Paulina) and Sam Kelly (husband Ort), as well as their three children. His family and those who knew him will remember him for his generosity, sense of humor and the deep connections he fostered with those close to him.
A world traveler and avid hunter, Olds achieved remarkable milestones in his lifetime. At one point, he held multiple world records for his hunting accomplishments—a testament to his skill and dedication to the sport. Beyond his adventurous pursuits, he had a profound love for history and genealogy. He devoted much of his time to exploring the history of northern Michigan, particularly the Olds family lineage and the Cheboygan area. His passion for uncovering stories of the past left an indelible mark on those who shared his enthusiasm.
Olds' legacy is one of curiosity, generosity, and a zest for life that inspired those around him. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
