Dale Marie Gustafson

Dale Marie Gustafson, 63, of Petoskey, MI, passed away August 30, 2020 after a courageous fight against cancer.

Dale was born August 20, 1957 in Marshall, MI, the daughter of Bert and Patricia Gustafson. She grew up and attended school in Marshall, graduating in 1975. She married Kenneth Duane Swick on September 10, 1976, and had two children, Heidi and Karen. She took pride in being a "band parent" while her children were in school, attending every performance and assisting the band booster program. In 2005 Dale and Ken divorced.

When her kids were young, she enjoyed taking them to local beaches and teaching them the value of home cooked meals. As they grew older, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and getting to know new and returning guests at Stafford's H.O. Rose Room where she was a server for 22 years.

She is survived by her sisters Barbara (John) Harris of Battle Creek, Karen (Nelson) Wood of Lititz, Pennsylvania; children Heidi (Ryan) Schaefer of Meeteetse, Wyoming, Karen Swick of Petoskey; grandchildren Emily and Jacob; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Condolences may be sent to Karen Swick, and Stafford's Perry Hotel, 100 Lewis St, Petoskey, MI, 49770. A memorial service will be held at Stafford's Perry Hotel in the spring, official date still to be determined.
