Damon Hendrickson Obituary

Damon Lowry Hendrickson, 51, of Petoskey, MI, passed to a higher place on May 13th, 2020 surrounded by his loving family, after several months of suffering from cancer.

Damon was born in Wayne County to Timothy F. and Judy (Grace) Hendrickson on June 6, 1968.  He moved to Alanson as a young boy with his mother and stepfather, Wilson Taylor, sister Elena and brother Timothy, Jr.  He attended school in Alanson and courses at North Central Michigan College. Damon was a patriot, a proud veteran of the US Marine Corp, and served in Operation Desert Storm.

On July 13, 1991, he married Cynthia (Cindy) Brown in Lansing. Together they raised their son, Devon James and daughter Miranda Christine in Petoskey. He was a devoted husband and father, reveling in any type of family gathering. When not working as IT Administrator at White Pines Electric, he enjoyed snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, boating, technology and karaoke, especially singing duets with Cindy.

Damon was preceded in death by his father Timothy Hendrickson, Sr., and step-father Wilson Taylor.  He is survived by his wife Cindy; children Devon with wife Samantha Hawkins, of Northville; Miranda of Vancouver, Canada; mother Judy Taylor; sister Elena C. Olson (Bob); brother Timothy Jr (Barb); also surviving are his parents-in-law, James Sr. and Christine Brown, brother-in-law James, Jr. (Christine); numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.

He leaves behind many happy stories and memories, and will be sorely missed by all. A strong, kind and gentle soul who will live in our hearts forever.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and specialists at U of M and McLaren Hospitals, Hospice and all who cared for Damon during his battle.

A private ceremony will be held shortly, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date for all of Damon’s friends and family.  Those wishing to do so may donate to the Musella Foundation for Brain Tumor Research, (1100 Peninsula Blvd., Hewlett, NY 11557 or 888-295-4740), in honor of Damon.
