David Lee Pfleghaar, 85 of Petoskey, Michigan, died, November 12, 2025, at the Brook of Boyne City.
David was born March 26, 1940, in Perrysburg, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Henrietta (Brickner) Pfleghaar.
He grew up in Maumee, Ohio, and attended Maumee High School.
On November 28, 1964, he married Janet Linenkugel in Maumee, Ohio.
David, before meeting Janet, enlisted in the United States Army for two years before returning home to Maumee.
He was one of 13 children. He worked at Champion Spark Plug as a Forman. He owned a laundromat and later decided to move the family from Ohio to Petoskey, Michigan, in 1976 and purchased Mighty Fine Pizza, and later a cafe. After selling the restaurants he worked at Michigan Maple Block until retirement.
David was his senior high school prom king and loved racing cars in his youth, fishing and watching baseball especially Ohio teams. He was a member of St Francis Xavior Church in Petoskey.
David is survived by his wife Janet; four sons: Michael (Tommy Allen), Marc (Stephanie), Mathew (Michelle), and Brett; grandchildren Allie, Rachel, Lauren, and Jack; and step-grandchildren Paige and Amanda.
He is preceded by his siblings: James, Deloris, Robert, Ellen, Gordon, Sharon, Eugene.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in Dave’s memory to Hospice, the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
A funeral Mass officiated by Reverend Father Denny Stilwell at St. Mathews Catholic Church will be on November 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM. A visitation will be held at noon, and a luncheon will follow Mass. His cremated remains will be interred at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey, Michigan, at a later date.
