Denise Renee Clark, 73, of Cheboygan, MI passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, June 30, 2025. She was born on December 12, 1951, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Maurice and Esther (Syrek) Smith.
Denise was a kind and loving person who cherished her family, friends and her beloved pets. She loved crafts and spent many hours sewing quilts for gifts, donations and the annual Syrek family reunion. During Michigan’s long winters, she crocheted potholders then generously gave them to her friends and family. Denise was an avid member of The Loyal Order of Moose in Cheboygan and was on their board, assisted with fundraisers and hosted Nachos and Tacos nights for many years.
Beginning in 1971 until 2012, Denise worked at the Cheboygan Memorial (McLaren) Hospital before transferring to Evergreen Living in St. Ignace where she happily retired
in 2018.
Denise is survived by her sisters Carol (Joe) Michael, Jennifer (Gerry) Manion, Janine (Duane) Walker, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husbands Benjamin Boda and Donald Clark as well as her special friend Jim Baldwin, her parents, brother Willam Smith and her dear sister Maureen Smith.
There will be memorial luncheon to honor Denise’s memory on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at The Loyal Order of Moose, 290 N. Huron St., Cheboygan, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at the luncheon to benefit an animal rescue to assist in the medical care and rehoming of Denise’s dog, Bailey.
