Diane Carroll

Freida “Diane” Carroll, age 83 of Pellston passed away on January 22, 2023 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital.

Diane was born on December 14, 1939 in Petoskey the daughter of Francis and Myrtle (Lasley) Carroll.  She grew up in the Good Hart and Petoskey area. Diane lived in Brutus, MI with her life partner Roy Parkey, Sr. from 1966 until his death in 1999.  She had a love for yard sales and collecting Native American artwork.  Diane was also an Elder of the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians.

Diane is survived by Bill and Danette Shawa, Patty Chingwa, Anthony Shawa Sr., Roy Jr. and Gina Parkey, April (Parkey) and Duane Rudy; stepdaughter Donna and Jack Squires; sister Lynn Fulcher and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her life partner Roy Parkey, Sr.; parents and grand-daughter Angel Stacy.

A funeral service will be held 11:30 am on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey with a visitation being held from 10:30 am until the time of service.
