Donna Gene (Kemp) Marks

Donna Gene Marks, 81, of Topinabee, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at Medilodge in Cheboygan, Michigan. Donna was born on November 9, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Louise Kemp (Schulte). On December 1, 1962, she married the love of her life, George L. Marks Sr., in Detroit, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 64 years.

In her younger years, Donna enjoyed bowling and remained a lifelong, passionate fan of the Detroit Tigers. She found simple joy in watching the birds and spending time working in her yard, where she created a peaceful space she loved.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, George Marks Sr.; her daughters, Pamela and Valerie; her son, George (Shelly) Marks Jr.; her grandsons, Ryan (Amanda) Marks and Corey (Dustin) Marks; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Bella Marks, Alaina Marks, and Weston Marks. She is also survived by her sister, Christine (Kevin) Gutgsell; sisters-in-law Kathy Kemp, Joan Marks, and Cheryl Conners; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Louise Kemp; her brother, William Kemp; her brother-in-law, Roy Marks Jr.; and her sister-in-law, Ann LaBorde.

Donna will be remembered for her love of family, her quiet strength, and the warmth she brought to those around her.
