Donna VanEvery Obituary

Donna J. VanEvery passed away peacefully Monday, May 18, 2026, at the age of 90 in Harbor Springs, Michigan. Donna was preceded in death by her husband David, brother Jim, and parents Steve & Vincenta Jurecki.  David and Donna were happily married for 58 years.

Donna is survived by her daughters Mary and Vincenta, and her granddaughter Lauren.

Donna was known for her intellect; she could whip off a New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle in record time. She was shy in her own accord, however when she knew you, she was definitely not shy of thoughts and opinions. Donna had an open heart; she was known as a 'second Mom' to her children's friends. She was always there to listen, provide candid feedback, and keen advice. She was known for 'one to go for questions and ideas'.  Donna was also an active Animal Cruelty philanthropist. She donated fiscally to numerous organizations throughout the years.

Donna was a graduate of the University of Detroit and received a MA from the University of Hawaii.  She taught first grade for eleven years in Detroit Schools until she married David on November 12, 1965. David's love of the University of Michigan converted Donna to an ultimate fan. They could be spotted every Saturday at the Victors Club lot tailgating with family and friends. In fact, her granddaughter Lauren will be a Senior at UofM this coming Fall.

Donna will be missed greatly by those who knew her and her spirit.

Per Donna's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Donna and David will be laid to rest together at Lakeview Cemetery in Harbor Springs.

May Donna rest in peace; her sprit shall live on.
