Douglas E. Leist

Douglas Edward Leist, 71, of Boyne City passed on September 7, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Doug was born August 28, 1952, the son of Russell and Gloria (Price) Leist.

Doug spent his life growing up in Boyne City and graduated from Boyne City High School in 1970.

On September 18, 1976, he married Kristine (Amesbury) Leist.

Doug worked for and retired from the City of Boyne City.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Boyne City. He enjoyed all sports, hunting, and Canada fishing trips.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Kristine; sons, Damien (Janine) and Wade (Helen); grandchildren, Gabriel and Hunter; brother Ramie; sisters Debbie (Kyle) Price and Tina; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at Christ Lutheran Church on September 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with a gathering one-hour prior. Pastor Chuck Hoffman will officiate. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Boyne City.

Donations may be directed to the Christ Lutheran Church and Boyne City Fire Department in memory of Doug.
