Earl Wilfred Vieau

Earl Wilfred Vieau, 98 of Cheboygan, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026. He was born on March 14, 1927.

Earl was a United States Army veteran who served during World War II. After his service, he dedicated many years to his craft as a carpenter, specializing as a finish carpenter. Known for his skill, patience, and attention to detail, Earl took pride in every project he completed, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship that reflected his steady hands and quiet strength.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Viola Vieau, with whom he shared many years of marriage. They were married on September 18, 1947, and built a life together filled with love, partnership, and family.

Earl is survived by his brother, Robert Vieau; his children, Jeanne Oxley (Charles), Bruce Vieau, and Sheila Provo; his grandchildren, Michael Foley (Jessica), Derrick Oxley (Tami), Brandon Provo (Kelly), and Devin Brecht (Alec); and his great-grandchildren, Imelda, Keegan, Cooper, Kembry, and Rowan.

Earl will be remembered for his dedication to family, his remarkable craftsmanship, and the quiet strength he shared with all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the work of his hands and the love of his family.

Services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, with visitation at 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM at Nordman-Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan. Burial will take place in the spring at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local food pantry.
