Eileen Theresa (Creagan) Adams

Eileen Theresa Adams, age 89 died February 27, 2021.  She was born in Hamilton Township, Van Buren County, Michigan at the home of her parents George Arthur and Francis M. (Kirk) Creagan November 20, 1031.  She graduated from Decatur Hight School in Decatur, Michigan in 1949 and later from the Nazareth School of Nursing in June 1953.  Eileen was married to Elmer Adams on October 28, 1953 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Decatur, Michigan.  Eileen worked in the nursing field at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo and Mercy Hospital in Jackson.  She moved to Detroit where she worked at Jenning Hospital in Detroit.  Moving back to the Kalamazoo area she specialized in clinical oncology and pediatrics. 

Eileen was active in every parish that they were members most recently at St Francis Xavier Parish with Brother Dan’s Food Pantry.

Eileen is survived by daughters Linda Maureen Adams (Charlie Davis) and Diane (Steve) Jensen; daughter-in-law Linda Marie Adams, grandchildren Benjamin Adams, Casey Adams, and Morgan Davis; sister-in-law Arlene Wiles; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Elmer and son Daniel; sister Mary Catherine Shanahan and brothers Patrick and Jim Creagan. 

Memorials to Saint Francis Tuition Angel and Brother Dan’s Food Pantry. 

A memorial mass at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Petoskey, Michigan will be officiated by Father Greg McCallum on March 5, 2021 at 10:30 AM. A visitation will begin at 9:30 AM.
