Eleanor Hannah (Myers) Sutliff, age 84 of Boyne City passed away on August 19, 2025 surrounded by her loving family following a short illness at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Eleanor was born December 5, 1940 in East Jordan, MI the daughter of Robert and Mamie (Gaunt) Myers. She grew up in East Jordan and graduated from East Jordan Public School in 1959. On August 24, 1963 she married Oral Sutliff in Boyne City.
She was a very passionate and active community member serving with the Boyne City Fire Department Auxiliary, Boyne Valley Lions Club, Charlevoix County Board of Canvassers, DHHS Board for Grandvue and volunteering at the Charlevoix Area Hospital. Apart from her community service Eleanor enjoyed mushroom hunting, bowling, ceramics, gardening, shopping and spending lots of time with her beloved family.
Eleanor was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Boyne City and married Oral in the same church they attended since 1963!
Eleanor is survived by her daughter Sheri (Kevin) Fitzpatrick; son Scott (Dan Baer) Sutliff; grandchildren Brenton (Emily) Fitzpatrick, Kaitlin (Diego) Arteaga, Madison (Brock) Yenglin, Lauren (Hayden Seals) Fitzpatrick and Brooklyn (Max Vondra) Fitzpatrick; great-grandchildren Camden, Fiona and Henryk Fitzpatrick, Guadalupe, Paloma and Juanita Arteaga, Evelyn, Beau and Grant Yenglin; sister-in-law Carol (T.J.) Sutliff, cousins, nieces, nephews and her beloved dog Logan.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 55 years, Oral; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law T.J. Sutliff, Elinor (Richard) Dubin, Delores (Wil) Nichols, Jeanne (Steve) McCarry, Leanna (Jim) McCarry and Thurleen (Jim) Eaton.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 27th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at The First Presbyterian Church in Boyne City.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 28th at 11:00 am at the church with a visitation being held from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Boyne City.
