Elmer E. Kitchen, 76, of Cheboygan, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at home.
A lifelong resident of the area, Elmer was born March 28, 1941 in Cheboygan, the son of Elmer G. “Deke” and Clara (Chase) Kitchen. He was a 1961 graduate of Cheboygan High School. On July 28, 1962 in Cheboygan, he married Theresa Arnold. He was employed by Proctor and Gamble, later Great Lakes Tissue in Cheboygan, retiring in 1991 as maintenance manager after 54 years of service. Elmer enjoyed hunting and his dogs, and was a member of the Onaway Beagle Club.
Surviving are his wife, Theresa, four sons, Jeffrey (Pattie) Kitchen of Mackinaw City, and their daughter, Kendra (Peter) Dobias, Jerald Kitchen of Cheboygan, and his children, Jeremy, Kayla, and Blake Kitchen, James Kitchen of Adrian, and his children, Belinda and Brittany Kitchen, and Joseph (Tania) Kitchen of Manistee, two great grandchildren, Kendall-Marie, and Mason, five sisters, Linda (Ron), Helen, Donna, Mary, a brother, Danny (Sherry) Kitchen, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11:00am, with the family greeting friends beginning at 10:00am, at the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan. Rev. Dave Wallis will officiate, burial will be at Pinehill Cemetery.
