Frederick “Freddie” Godzik Jr., 49
Lifelong area resident, Frederick “Freddie” Godzik Jr., passed unexpectedly on December 7, 2018 at the age of 49 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey.
Freddie was born March 29, 1969 in Petoskey, the son of Fred and Arlene (Swiss) Godzik. He grew up in Cross Village and attended school in Pellston, Alanson and Petoskey Public Schools.
Freddie enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed trying his luck at the casino and spending time with his family. He was a fan of both the Detroit Tigers and the Lions and he truly enjoyed attending his nieces and nephews volleyball and baseball games. Freddie was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He was a loving son, a wonderful brother and devoted uncle, who will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.
Freddie is survived by his parents Fred and Arlene Godzik Sr., of Cross Village, his sisters, Jessica (Corey) Bonter and Jennifer (Steve) Krussell; by his nieces and nephews, Chelsea (Logan) Healey, Kaylee Krussell and Jared Krussell and by his great-nephew Parker Healey, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis and Wanda Swiss and Michael, Mary and Lettie Godzik and by one cousin Edward Louis “Duke” Swiss Jr.
The Godzik family will remember and celebrate Freddie’s life at 2pm on Saturday, June 22nd at his home, 4383 Division Rd., Harbor Springs MI. 49740.
