Frederick "Ric" Martsolf Obituary

Frederick R. Martsolf, born December 3rd, 1945 in Atlantic City, New Jersey passed away peacefully on June 20, 2021 in his beloved cottage in Bay View, Michigan. He lived most of his life in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with his wife, Nancy, and their two boys. A graduate of Western Reserve Academy, Michigan State University, and Dickinson Law School, Ric also served in the United States Army in the Canine Division.

Ric was an esteemed real estate attorney in central Pennsylvania for over 50 years and an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Dauphin County Bar Association. He published articles and gave lectures for the Pennsylvania Land Title Association, the National Business Institute, and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He was also admitted to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania as well as the U. S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

In August of 1968, Ric married his true love, Nancy Runquist; they met in Bay View as kids and knew early on that theirs was a romance for the ages. They were married for 52 years before Nancy preceded him in death on February 24th, 2021. They had two sons, Eric and Justin, and their family life was full of lots of fun, music, and laughter. Ric enjoyed a good book or lawyer flick, MSU football, golf, and spending his summers in Bay View surrounded by his family and friends.

Ric is survived by his son Eric (Lisa) Martsolf, his son Justin (Heather) Martsolf and three grandchildren, Mason, Chase, and Grayson. He is also survived by three siblings; John (Cathy) Martsolf, Margie (Michael) Willson, and Rob (Donna) Martsolf.

Anyone who knew Ric and Nancy knew they would not stay apart for very long. They were united in time, divided by time, and reunited when time shall be no more.

There will be a memorial service and inhumation of ashes in Bay View, Michigan on July 3rd, 2021. Anyone wishing to make a gift in their honor and memory may do so to the Bay View Association, PO Box 583, Petoskey, Michigan 49770. Please designate Memorial Garden on the gift.
