Garfield Pearce Blight, 85, passed away at the Cape Cod Hospital, Massachusetts on May 7th, 2019 after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Michigan, Mr. Blight was a graduate of Lawrence Technical University in Southfield, Michigan. Before attending the university, he spend two years in the Army, where he served in Korea in 1953 and 1954. He worked in sales and sales management with the business press, ending his 35 year career as publisher of Engineer’s Digest magazine.
Surviving is his wife Phyllis, daughter Linda Nesbit of Des Moines, Iowa; stepson, Greg Simcic of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
A Funeral service will be held June 13 at the Epsilon United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and and burial will take place after the funeral service at the Curtis Cemetery in Springvale Township, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to Our Lady of Clear Creek Abbey in Hulbert, OK.
