George Carter Obituary

George Samuel Carter, 54, died April 1, 2021 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City after suffering complications of dementia.

George was born March 12, 1967, in Medina, Ohio, the son of Richard Carter and Jane Ann Cook. He was raised in northern Michigan, primarily Pellston and graduated from Airport High School in Carleton, Michigan.

He later attended college for a Culinary Art degree and began working as a corporate dietician and chef. George loved to cook and will be well remembered for his delicious recipes and dishes.

George also enjoyed music and the outdoors. In his downtime he loved being outside, watching football, body building, and being with friends and family. He had an amazing sense of humor and could make anyone laugh.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. George is survived by his three sons, Christopher (Jessica) Carter of Greenville, MI, Derek (Gabbie) Carter of Newport, MI, and Matthew (Jodi Baxter) Carter of Taylor, MI; his grandchildren, Izabel, Aleena and Lucille Carter; his parents, Jane Ann (Harry) Rose of Pellston and Richard “Dick” (Mary) Carter of Pellston, MI; and by his sister, Memory (Art) Massey of Pellston, MI.

George is preceded in death by his brother, Sam Wells.

There are no services planned at this time. George will be interred at the McKinley Township Cemetery in Pellston later this spring.
