George H. Kolatski

George H. Kolatski (87) died January 9, 2026 at his home in Cheboygan, Michigan. 

George was born on March 5, 1938.  The son of Frank Kolatski and Agatha (Barrette).  He grew up in Cheboygan and attended Cheboygan Central School.   George worked and retired from Proctor and Gamble Paper Making Company.  He also worked as a chef at General Motors (Pontiac, MI), Arizona Biltmore and The Camel Back Inn.  George was also a proud member of the American Legion and a member of Northshore Community Church.

After serving in the US Army from September 26, 1961 through September 25, 1963, he married Geraldine Barbara Cowell on August 29, 1970 in Mackinac Island, MI.

George loved life, he enjoyed traveling, hunting and tinkering in his shop.  He enjoyed family time, gardening and especially taking special care of a beautiful Christmas cactus.

He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine, his parents, six siblings, his daughter Barbara Schultz, son-in-law Wayne Schultz, son Robert Lee Durant, daughter-in-law Colleen Durant, grandchildren Bruce and Wendy Hulbert and Wilfred Beeny Jr.

George is survived by Doris (Wilford) Beeney, Diana (David) Hulbert, Theodore (Lisa) Durant, Charles (Bonita) Chesner, Danny Durant, Becky Kolatski, two sisters-in-law, Lorma and Lois Kolatski, several great-great grandchildren.

Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cheboygan at later date.
