George Leslie Quick

George Leslie Quick, 83, of Levering, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at his home. George was born on April 16, 1939 in Marshall, Michigan, the son of George O. And Marian L. (White) Quick. 

George grew up in Marshall, graduating from Marshall High School in 1957. He then attended Ferris State and Kellogg Community College, graduating from Lincoln Extension Institute in Cleveland, Ohio with a business degree. 

After earning his degree, George worked for the regional office at State Farm Insurance in Marshall, where he met the love of his life, Bonnie Conklin. Bonnie and George were married on January 7, 1961 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Marshall, Michigan. Later George worked at Eaton Corp in Battle Creek, Michigan and Marshall, Michigan, before retiring from Denso of Michigan in April of 2001. 

In 2011, George and Bonnie moved to their summer home in Levering, Michigan permanently. 

George was a member of Trinity Episcopal and St. James Episcopal Church in Cheboygan. 

George was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, boating, fishing, and golfing. He was a strong family man who constantly told his children that “Mom is the greatest thing to ever happen to me.” George was a very strong man, fighting Parkinson’s for over 20 years. 

George is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie, his sons, Scott Gregory Quick and James (Kathleen) Arthur Quick, seven grandchildren, Michael Quick, Tiffany (Wink) Tran, Greggory Quick, Maximillian Quick, Cameron Quick, Austin Quick, and Nate Quick, and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Marianne Williams and Susan Lewis. 

George’s funeral will take place at St. James Episcopal in Cheboygan on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 2pm with the family greeting friends beginning at noon. Fr. Lewis D. Crusoe will officiate.
