Gerald Lee Courtright, 86, of Boyne City, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. He relocated to Curtis, Michigan in 1985. Gerald was born December 5, 1936, in Wayne, Michigan, the son of John Franklin and Dorothy May (Burton) Courtright. He grew up in Wayne and attended Wayne High School. Gerald had a love for Boyne City, Michigan and moved there in the mid 60’s.
Gerald, fondly known as Jerry, was born to John Franklin and Dorothy May (Burton) Courtright, on December 5, 1936, in Wayne Michigan. In his younger years he became a talented tool and die maker eventually becoming the owner of the business. After retiring in his early 50’s, he enjoyed spending time at his home on the lake in the upper peninsula with his many fur babies.
Jerry is survived by three of his five children, Gerri (John) Danules, Kimberly Wright, and Bob Courtright. He is also survived by his grandchildren Bobby, Charlie, Blake Courtright, Trevor Kingsbury, Brennen (Jessica) Wright, Drue (Kelsie) Wright, Amber Danules, Shannon Courtright along with three great grandchildren Lydia, Tillie, and Winston Wright. Jerry was predeceased by his sons, Ronald, and Donald Courtright along with his wife Alta Courtright.
Jerry’s family will host a funeral service on Monday, October 30, 2023. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Stackus Funeral Home, 417 Elm St., Boyne City, Michigan 49712, followed by a prayer service at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Charlevoix Humane Society in Boyne City in Jerry’s name. Reverend Karen Harriman from East Jordan United Methodist Church will officiate the service and burial will be at the Brown Cemetery in East Jordan.
