Gerri Anne was born on September 20, 1961, to Richard and Ruth Mysliwiec. She was raised in Grand Rapids, the youngest of eight children. She graduated from West Catholic High School as well as Western Michigan University, majoring in Occupational Therapy. Gerri dedicated her life to helping people and gave everyone she worked with her whole heart.
She married Robert Armstrong of Beaver Island on June 21, 1985, and they were blessed with two daughters: Monica, (Alexandra and Kristen), Paige (Travis) Elowsky, and a grandson Coleson. Gerri is also survived by Steve (Diana), Joeen, Mike (Joan), Mary Jo (Bob), Paul (Sheila), (Ceci), Dan (Mary) and Jim (Margherite). Several dozen nieces and nephews and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ruth; her loving husband, Bob; brother, Bob; and brother-in-Law, Roger. Grandma Gerri was proud to be referred to as “Gigi” by her grandson, whom she adored.
Gerri made friends easily and cherished her connection with each and every one of them. She valued spending with family. Gerri saw no greater honor than being loved. She was always quick to let you know she was thinking of you with a text or phone call just to say hi. Her favorite hobby was pontoon boating around Long Lake every summer.
