Gerry Jarema

Gerry Jarema, 65, of Boyne City, passed on to Heaven, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Meadowbrook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. Gerry graduated from Boyne City High School in 1974. He was the 4th born of 8 children to Marilyn (Bearss) Jarema and the late Fritz Jarema.

Gerry was born with Cerebal Palsy but that did not keep him from enjoying fishing, playing bingo and cheering on his favorite sport teams. He was a kind spirit who never complained about anything. He knew many stats on most of the athletes he would root for. Gerry loved to visit and enjoyed listening to music and watching sitcoms on T.V.

Gerry loved his family and when he lived on his own he looked forward to Halloween. His nieces and nephews knew that going to Lakeview Village meant Uncle Gerry would give them an entire can of pringles!

Gerry is survived by his mother, Marilyn Jarema of Boyne City, four sisters, Judy ( Tony) Pellerito of Boyne City, Sandy (Dave) Bellmer of Boyne City, Theresa Jarema of Boyne Falls and Frances Morey of Boyne City, his brother, Fr. Bill Jarema of Colorado Springs, CO and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis "Fritz" Jarema and his brothers, Randy and Larry Jarema.

The family would like to send a huge Thank You to the staff at Meadowbrook who took great care of him for the past six years. Gerry always had a smile on his face and was the best counselor when you needed someone to talk about anything.

Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at St. Matthews Church in Boyne City.

In lieu of flowers the family request that you do an act of kindness and share a smile with anyone that needs to be lifted up in Gerry’s memory.
