Gertrude Anne Behling went home to with the Lord on November 18, 2021.
She was born in Newberry, Michigan on August 14, 1938 in the logging camp where her parents Donald and Josephine (DeVerney) Muma lived. She was the third of fourteen children. Gertie was an excellent cook. She enjoyed reading, gardening, picking seasonal crops, and baking pies that were enjoyed by so many.
Gertie was married to Harry Bruce Behling. Together they had five children-Eugene (Cheryl) Behling, Marie (Tom) Haley, Austin (Angie) Behling, Harry Bruce Behling II (Geraldine) and Janice (Ken) Lutterbach; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Gertie is also survived by Jessie (Louise) Muma, Carol Muma, Gene McCaslin, Steve (Sharon) Muma, Nina (Don) Hawver, Pat (Judy) Muma, Gayla (John) Grocholski III, Sue Muma, Martha (Howard) Carson, Phyllis Dunkel.
Gertie was preceded in death by her husband Harry Bruce Behling, and siblings- Donald J (Sonny) Muma, Wilfrieda (Sis) Somerville, Vicky and (Frank) Moore, Alfred Muma, Lottie McCaslin, Diane Bard, Rodney Muma, Bill Muma, and granddaughter Wesley Behling.
Gertrude was a member of Little River Ottawa Indians. A Tribal Fire will be lit for three days in her honor.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday at Knop Cemetery in Wilson Township with Pastor David Behling officiating.
